FAQs

How long can I expect to be in therapy?

The length of time you participate in therapy depends on many variables, but mostly as long as it is benefitting you and your goals. Within the first few sessions, we are establishing a therapeutic relationship and I will be getting to know more about you and your desire for change. Over time, we will work together on the change you want to achieve, which for some includes acute and finite action steps, where others manage long-term and ongoing aspects in their life. Typically, clients engage in therapy for about 6-9 months to upwards of several years.

Can I work with you in-person or via telehealth?

Both! I am happy to meet clients at my office space in downtown Grand Rapids or connect virtually online. If you are using insurance, there may be stipulations on coverage of telehealth. Please check with your insurance carrier to determine which modality is covered in advance of our working together. If you are paying privately, either modality is an option.

What are your payment options? Do you accept insurance?

As of July 1, 2022 I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield & Blue Care Network as an in-network provider. Cost for services beyond verification of benefits (what insurance covers) will be your responsibility, such as copays or deductibles. In addition, I accept out-of-pocket private pay via cash, credit, as well as HSA & FSA.

How do you work with out-of-network benefits?

I can provide a Superbill (like a receipt) at the end of each month so that you can submit for a potential reimbursement of services your insurer may deem acceptable. Superbills will be your responsibility to take care of between you and your insurance carrier.
